As a fresh start approaches, a lot of us will set business and personal goals for the new year. What makes some goals happen while others just fizzle out over time?
A lot of it comes down to having a plan and a way to execute it! We’ve put together our favorite resources for goal settings to help you make 2016 the best year ever!
5 Tips to Setting & Achieving Your Goals
1. Set Your Priorities and Vision First
It’s so common to set business or income goals first without setting out a vision for your entire life. It’s important to decide what you want out of life, and then you can work backward on setting financial goals to make sure they happen.
2. Honor Your Priorities.
If your goals don’t match your priorities or life vision, you are less likely to feel satisfied and accomplished when you do hit a goal. Check out our full goal setting guide to dig into priorities deeper.
3. Set SMART Goals
SMART Stands for: Specific, Measurable, Achievable (or Actionable), Realistic, and Timely Goals.
I like set SMART goals for each season. This way you have a chance to review and set new goals 4 times a year.
Plus, you can see what is working the best and what isn’t and adapt your daily routine for the rest of the year.
4. Find a Way to Hold Yourself Accountable.
One way to do this is to break down what your SMART goal will take, and then have a 5 to 10-minute chat with someone with a similar goal once a week to see how you both are working to attain your goal.
