No matter what job role you are in currently, overcoming objections is a vital skill in success.
Think about a child wanting a certain toy when going into Target. The child will wine, beg, and plead for the toy.
The mother may tell him, “you have enough toys.” He will reply, “but this one does XYZ.” She may say, “Save your money, and you can buy it,” and his reply may be “it will be sold out before I can! Will you buy it now, and I’ll pay you back or buy the next toy?” Then, the toy is either bought or put back.
The point of the story is that even at a very young age we are taught how to overcome a parent’s objections to something we want. We may know instinctively how to overcome an objection or how far to “push” the parent.
Overcoming objections is something we naturally do all the time.
So why is it so hard to overcome an objection in network marketing?
We overthink it.
We get nervous. We don’t want to push or be salesy or tell them WHY their objection is just an excuse. We fight the natural urge to just talk it out.
Or we spew at the mouth and sound defensive — or downright crazy.
So what is this 1 surprising way to overcome objections?
It’s something we heard from Dani Johnson year ago. It’s super simple, natural, and really works.
When you are faced with any objection, you can respond:
I don’t know anything about *OBJECTION*, all I know is…..*BENEFIT You’ve Seen*
This is so natural and simple for us to say. It takes pressure off whatever the objection is and doesn’t sound like you are being defensive. Plus, it keeps your reply short and sweet while showcasing why they need it.
It’s been proven people want to know and buy based on the product’s or the opportunity’s benefit or the why behind it. This way to overcome objections touches on both pieces and gives you something simple to use when things used to feel pushy or sticky.
