Pinterest is one of the main ways we’ve grown our blog and online businesses! In order to be successful on the image-based site, you need irresistible Pinterest pictures though!
Thousands of pins are uploaded to Pinterest every day, and it’s important your Pinterest pictures stand out! The more you are able to be repinned, the more of your ideal clients will see your pin and original post.
Before we go over how to create irresistible Pinterest pictures, it’s important to know why Pinterest is such a powerhouse.
First, Pinterest users’ demographics are usually women with a higher disposable income versus any other social media channel. This means they can afford your products more easily than people on other sites.
Second, Pinterest is a super-powerful search platform. Pins are organized by keywords, boards, interests, and categories. By having great content on Pinterest you’ll be found by your ideal client easily.
Third, Pinterest is the only social media channel focused on sharing. Every time a pin is shared, a whole new audience with similar interests will see it!
3 Ways to Create Irresistible Pinterest Pictures
1. Canva or PicMonkey
You don’t have to be a graphic designer to create awesome Pinterest pictures now! Canva and PicMonkey make it easy to create attention grabbing pictures without needing a special software. You can add in stock images, filters and text with Canva just with a few clicks. If you aren’t a computer pro yet, you can also hire a graphic designer on UpWork or comment below for a recommendation.
2. Play with Your Sizes & Fonts
Pinterest pins do best with an image size of 2 to 3 and 1 to 3.5 aspect ratio. An example would be 735 x 1,102 pixels. You may choose to have a featured image on your blog or Facebook, and then create a separate image specifically for Pinterest. For example, below is our Pinterest image for this same blog post. It is shrunk down for your convenience, but the ratio is the same.
Also playing with your font can capture the attention of your ideal client. Notice how this picture has 3 different fonts with a variety of color.
3. Include Value in the Picture
You’ll want to start first with a high-quality image. This means the resolution is good along with the lighting. Then depending on your industry, you may want to add a little more value to your posts. For example, if you just finished a great blog post with an awesome eye-catching headline, include it on the pin.
We’ve played with the same image with and without the title, and titles always get repinned more in our industry.
Another way to build value is to include a checklist or tutorial. Is there a way to breakdown your content into steps? If so, create a simple to view, eye-pleasing pin to summarize the content right there on Pinterest!
These 3 ways to create irresistible Pinterest Pictures will have you gaining more repins, traffic to your blog, and even Pinterest followers. With Pinterest, everything works so well together for your goals and builds on one another.
