3 Ways to Use Facebook to Grow Your Business
1. Free Groups
Offering a free group is a simple way to grow your presence online. It also helps you connect with your ideal clients on a deeper level. In order to make the group successful, you would want to identify a problem your ideal client has and find a solution you can share over 3-5 days.
You would promote the free group on your social media profiles. You may also reach out to people in a similar industry to ask them to share about the free group you are offering, or you may post it in a community where you are allowed to promote.
Once you have people interested, you would set up a private group on Facebook where you’ll share your tips. The group should have a set start and end date to help get people to take action.
The free group helps you get to know your prospects’ needs better and tailor your offer to them. At the end of the free group, you can present the next step of your business like a paid fitness challenge or a related product you’d like them to buy.
Not only will a free group help you meet your ideal client and lead to sales, but it will also help boost your Facebook Like Page’s engagement which leads to more people seeing you in their newsfeed and finding out about your business!
2. Facebook Ads
Facebook Ads are one the most simple but also most frustrating things you can do for your business. Confused already?
Well if you master how to use Facebook ads, it can be a constant stream of targeted leads for pennies, but until you master it is a lot of troubleshooting and tweaking your audience and ad.
Setting Up a Great Audience
One of the easiest ways to set up a great Facebook audience is to import your existing email list as a custom audience. (How to Create a Custom Audience)
From there, you can target those people on your email list or create a lookalike audience. A lookalike audience will target people who have similar demographics, interests and behaviors as those that have already subscribed to your emails! (How to Create a Lookalike Audience)
You can also create a successful Facebook audience by targeting people who have already visited your blog using a Pixel. This is what big companies like Nordstrom does when you’ve looked at a cute pair of boots and then they “follow you” to Facebook as an ad and pop up. (How to Install a Pixel to Your Site)
Your audience should target 250,000 to 1,000,000 people to be most effective.
Setting Up a Great Ad
You will want your creative image to contain no more than 10% text on it. You also cannot feature weight loss or before or afters on an image or text for an ad.
It’s been shown a picture of a face works well with someone already on your email list or an existing liker whereas a more generic picture featuring the benefits offered in the ad works best for a “cold lead”.
Your ad’s text should include a call to action and feature the benefit your service or product offers.
Duration of Your Ad
You’ll want to let the ad run for at least 3 days for best results.
As I mentioned in an earlier post about Facebook Contests, we gained 522 new likes within a week! The main thing to keep in mind with a contest is that some people will only like your page in order to win without any interest in what you offer besides the temporary contest. The best way to overcome this is to feature a prize that is very specific to your ideal clients needs. Get more tips on hosting a Facebook contest here
You can also use any of these tips on how to use Facebook to grow your business in conjunction with each other. For example, we will always do an ad promoting our free group to gain more engagement and leads. We will do a quick burst of ads for the free group for 3 to 4 days for $10+ a day.
