Over the years, we’ve stayed in a few hotels in Nashville, and we definitely found our favorite to be the Kimpton Aertson!
The boutique hotel offers some of the best service and unique artwork in Midtown, Nashville. It’s also home to an amazing restaurant, Henley.
While we’ve stayed at other 4- and 5-star hotels in Nashville, this one felt the most luxurious and also the friendliest.
It’s also been given the Four Diamond Award by AAA and named a Best Hotel in The USA 2018 by U.S. News & World Report – so our high opinion of the hotel is among many others.
We visited the hotel for a photoshoot, and we felt like rockstars. This wasn’t because we were anyone special though – it was just the level of service they offer.
We also didn’t have to review the hotel as part of the shoot, but we love sharing about places we love with you guys!
Midtown, Nashville
If you’re not familiar with Nashville, there are several different neighborhoods making up the city.
South Broadway or “SoBro” is home to the iconic honky tonks. East Nashville is filled with unique little stores and young families. Germantown is also a growing neighborhood with a unique edge.
Midtown is one of our favorite spots as locals.
It’s not as loud or crowded as Broadway, but it’s still iconic Nashville with bars like Losers and the Red Door Saloon within walking distance.
We’re also a huge fan of Gigi’s Cupcakes that is super close to the hotel as well.
What It’s Close To
If you’re going to be looking at colleges, both Vanderbilt and Belmont University are within 1.1 miles of the hotel!
You can also easily experience the Nashville sites like the:
- Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
- Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park
- Cheekwood Estate & Gardens
- Ryman Auditorium – mother-church of country music.
We also love that Midtown is close to Hillsboro Village, 8th Avenue (Check out M.L. Rose for burgers!) and 12th South (Mafiaoza’s pizza is amazing!). All 3 areas offer a unique vibe and some amazing food that you wouldn’t necessarily know about if you didn’t live in the area.
The Hotel is Full of Details
As soon you pull up to the valet at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel, you are welcomed with unique touches. This accent wall is in the entryway before you even get to the lobby.
Then the unique touches keep coming with a gorgeous lobby with fireplace and floating stone artwork. Even the welcome desk is made of this crazy thick, sturdy rope!
The rooms have just as much detail to them, and nothing about our experience felt cookie-cutter.
I know for us – it’s refreshing to go into a hotel and know you’re in a specific city. There have been times that if you just looked at our hotel room you wouldn’t know if we were in New York City or Denver Colorado.
The Kimpton Aertson put in so much love and attention to make this room vibrate Music City vibes.
The beds were super comfortable too! The rooms – just like the lobby – had a distinctive style we loved.
Every room has its own original art from Hatch Show Print – another iconic spot in Nashville.
Other Special Touches at The Kimpton Aertson
Since we do an online business, we always look for free high-speed WiFi. While we love to just unwind – sometimes that means being able to answer and e-mail before signing off.
And the best special touch?? The Kimpton Aertson is pet-friendly!! It was so clean and upscale, and you can bring your pet! How freaking cool is that?!
The also had a great gym to offer.
It wasn’t the largest hotel gym ever, but the hotel itself isn’t massive. It was big enough and stocked with great equipment, water and towels!
We also loved that each room had a yoga mat! Since we stream yoga classes, we could workout right in our room!
Our room also had an umbrella which was a very welcomed surprise! While it rained on us the day of our photoshoot, the night before we snuck up to the balcony for some amazing views.
The Rooftop
If you stay at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel – PLEASE go to the roof. The balcony areas offer such amazing views of the Nashville skyline, and you can just feel the energy from the city up there! It was so cool!
Also, on the rooftop is a pool with comfy lounge seating. While we didn’t swim, the views and plush chairs were the perfect spot to unwind before our big photoshoot the next day!
Now – if you really need to unwind, they also offer a nightly wine hour! I mean, how cool is that?! They also have morning coffee & tea, but the wine stood out to us.
Since we were there to work, we didn’t have a chance to visit their spa. I honestly didn’t even research it when I was looking for where to stay. I just was looking for clean, unique and bright colors.
Then when we checked in, I saw the grand spa entrance past the elevators. Let’s just say, I’ll be looking into the pricing and services next time around! I mean – it looked swanky!
While we didn’t eat at Henley during our stay at the Kimpton Aertson, we’ve had it at different festivals around Nashville and love it.
Just like the hotel, Henley offers a unique, distinct taste of Southern hospitality.
If you’re coming to Nashville for the first time, you probably picture people eating biscuits and grits while classic country plays in the background. While I love a great biscuit, this picture of Nashville can get old really quick.
If you’re looking for something just enough out of the ordinary, you will love this American restaurant with Southern heritage. (Please get anything with pimento cheese there for me! Yum!)
