What You Need for Hocus Pocus Hot Chocolate
- 8 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa
- ¾ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tube purple gel food coloring
- Toppings: orange & green mini marshmallows, whipped cream, Halloween sprinkles, etc.
How to Make Purple Hot Chocolate
- Heat one cup of milk in a microwave safe container for one minute.
- Pour the remaining milk and heavy cream into the bowl of the slow cooker.
- Whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add the cup of warm milk, and stir until the ingredients are smooth and well combined.
- Combine the milk, cocoa mixture, and cream by stirring.
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and set to cook on low heat for four hours or high heat for three hours.
- When ready to serve, remove the lid from the slow cooker, and add the food coloring. Carefully, stir the hot chocolate with a whisk until the food coloring is evenly mixed into the drink.
- Place into your favorite Halloween mug, top with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
