Move over meat and cheese! This Ice Cream Sundae Charcuterie Board is perfect for a special night at home or get together! The best part is it’s customizable and perfect for kids and adults!
First off – I have to tell you — this was so much fun to make!
I felt like Kevin Mccallister from Home Alone quipping up a massive sundae that could put any grown adult into a sugar coma.
The only thing that was more fun and easy than creating this board was digging into it afterward!
Ice Cream Sundae Charcuterie Board Ideas
We used:
- Caramel Syrup
- Hot Fudge
- Teddy Grahams
- Sprinkles
- Waffle Cone Bowls
- Whipped Cream
- A Variety of Marshmallows
- Twix
- Chocolate Stars
- Mini M&Ms
- Reese’s Pieces
- Gummy Bears
- Shredded Coconut
- Chocolate Chips
- Peanuts
You can always add or subtract toppings as well though! We did the same thing with our hot chocolate charcuterie board!
Other Topping Ideas
Other Ideas include fresh fruit like kiwis, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, as well as, caramel pieces, Oreo’s, chocolate chip cookies, brownies, and candy corn.
You could also make this a little less kid-themed and add in dried fruit like apricots and figs, fresh pears, walnuts, hazelnuts, dark chocolate, pumpkin or pomegranate seeds, dates, biscotti, and herbs like mint and lavender.
How to Create Your Ice Cream Sundae Charcuterie Board
- Start with your board. You can use a charcuterie board, a nice cutting board, a large platter, or even a muffin tin! (Use the muffin holes as bowls and cover the rest of the pan with marshmallows!)
- Use small bowls for tiny toppings. The bowls add variety to your board and act as the foundation. We like to fill them up with items that can get messy if left out of a container — like sprinkles!
- Surround the bowls with larger toppings. Adding in larger candy around the bowls will help you start to fill up the board, and then you can just fill in the gaps.
- Fill in the remaining area with smaller candies and toppings.
- Enjoy!
BONUS TIP: Add Variety to Your Board!
Adding variety is key to keeping your ice cream board fun and eye-catching! You can choose a theme or just toppings that you know your family and friends will like. For our board, we knew we wanted a ton of color while incorporating the basic sundae toppings!
When you’re picking your toppings think about each one’s size, height, shape, texture, and color and mix it up!
