How to Make Super Easy Kix Cereal Marshmallow Treats
- Spray a 9Γ13 pan with non-stick spray and in a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add in your marshmallows once the butter is melted. Stir the mixture until itβs completely melted and smooth.
- Pour in your Kix cereal and gently stir until coated in marshmallow mixture. (Don’t over stir!)
- Remove from heat and while the mixture still warm, add in 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup marshmallows if desired.
- Using a spatula sprayed with non-stick spray, pour the mixture into the greased 9Γ13 pan.
- Let cool for about 2 hours and then cut into squares with a knife. (Spraying the knife with non-stick spray helps them cut evenly).
What should I do if my Kix Treats fall apart?
If your cereal marshmallow treats are falling apart, you may need more cereal in the mixture. Also, if the treats turn out dry, you need more marshmallow next time.
Do you press the Kix Treats in the pan?
In order to keep these Kix marshmallow treats soft, you want to gently pour the mixture into the 9×13 pan without pressing down firmly. A silicone spatula sprayed with non-stick spray is a great way to get them even in the pan.
Can you make these in the microwave?
If you don’t have a stovetop, you can always melt the butter and marshmallows using a microwave. You just place both ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 3 minutes. Stir after 2 minutes and repeat these steps until the mixture is smooth. Then add in your cereal and pour into a greased 9×13 dish as listed above.
