These No Bake Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats went crazy on our TikTok! They’re so easy to make and always such a crowd-pleaser!
We make a lot of cereal treats, but these Salted Caramel Rice Krispies are definitely our number 1 favorite. They’re just the perfect combination of salty and sweet!
The idea for them came from seeing a $5 thick, squared cereal bar at Bucc-ee’s a couple of years ago. No way were any of us paying $5 when we could make a whole batch at home for the same price!
What You’ll Need for Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats
- 1/2 Stick Butter
- 5 Cups Rice Krispies
- 10 oz Bag Marshmallows
- 10 oz Bag Kraft’s Caramel Bits
- Salt to Taste
How to Make Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treats
- Place the 1/2 stick of butter in a large pot on medium-low heat. Let the butter melt.
- Add in 1 bag of marshmallows and melt until gooey.
- Add in 5 cups rice cereal. Turn off stove.
- Stir together.
- Remove from any heat. Add in Caramel Bits and mix through.
- Gently spread into a greased 9×13 pan. (Pressing too hard will make them crunchy).
- Top with salt.
Helpful Tips & Tricks
For the best bars, let them sit at room temperature for 2-3 hours before enjoying.
Make sure to keep your stirring to a minimum. The more stirring or pressing you do, the more the cereal breaks. This causes the treats become too chewy.
Spray your pan and spatula with a non-stick spray to keep the marshmallow cereal mixture from sticking to it as much.
How to Store Salted Caramel Rice Krispie Treat Bars
The cereal treat bars last about 2 days in the original 9×13 pan when covered with aluminum foil or handy wrap.
To keep the fresh even longer, cut them up and place in an airtight container.
Where do you get Caramel Bits?
We use Kraft’s Carmel Bits, but you can use any brand as well. We got ours at Walmart or Amazon.
We love to take them to the pool or on a Summer picnic because the caramel bits don’t melt super quickly either!
