Santa is sure to love this boozy Christmas Eve drink that is both sweet and festive! Our Sugar Cookies for Santa Cocktail is great for a holiday party or movie night too! It combines Bailey’s, amaretto, and vanilla vodka to create a sugar cookie flavor topped with sprinkles!
This sweet and creamy drink really tastes like a sugar cookie!
It’s also such a pretty drink with a rim of red and green sprinkles to celebrate the holiday season!
We figured Santa got enough regular milk and cookies on his trip around the world that it was time to treat him to something more adult. So we kept the milk but added in amaretto, vanilla vodka, and Bailey’s Irish cream to create a delicious boozy drink that he’d remember for a long time!
While we chose to use a traditional glass, you could also make this Sugar Cookies for Santa cocktail with a martini glass!
You’d just want to coat whichever glass you choose with vanilla icing and dip them into the sprinkles until they’re heavily covered.
You could also use different colored sprinkles and serve this for a 21st birthday or bridal shower as well!
The History Behind Christmas Cookies
Did you know Christmas cookies date back to the 7th century?! They started in Persia and became a tradition in Europe in the early 1500s. By the 1800s, mass production of Christmas cookies was well under way with cookie cutters becoming a common kitchen utensil!
Why do we leave Cookies and Milk for Santa on Christmas Eve?
Leaving cookies and milk for Santa became a tradition during the Great Depression. Parents hoped to instill a sense of sharing and gratitude in their children, and this is why they encouraged them to leave treats out of Santa and his reindeer.
