First off – can we say, the name, Sh’Bam, about turned us off? It sounds either really easy or something super, duper cheesy. The spoiler? It was neither!

Is Sh’Bam a good workout for weight loss?
Sh’Bam is a great workout for weight loss because it burns a surprisingly high amount of calories and is a ton of fun!
You’ll want to combine any workout with a calorie deficit in order to see weight loss.
How many calories do you burn in a Sh’Bam class?
The average Sh’Bam class burns around 400 calories! This number will vary depending on your fitness level and size, but it gives you a general idea.
How Class is Set Up
Each workout includes about 11 songs, and each song is about 3-4 minutes long.
The instructors are really great about cueing the moves and breaking down the steps. So even if you’re not very coordinated, you probably could do and enjoy this workout!
There are 3 main moves we did during class — the step touch, the mambo (think Shakira-vibes), and the hip jack.
While there are some high-impact jumping moves, you could also modify them to make it easier on your knees and joints.
Each workout is set to music and include a warm-up and cool-down song.
Sh’Bam vs Zumba
There are many similarities to Zumba in Sh’Bam. If you like one, you’d likely the other.
With that said, Sh’Bam is our favorite because of the music choices — it’s more pop and Top 40 songs whereas Zumba is more modern latin beats.

What is the difference between BODYJAM and Sh’Bam?
Les Mills BODYJAM is a choreography dance-based workout. Like Sh’Bam, it’s a lot of fun and available gyms and on Les Mills+.
We found BODYJAM’s calorie burn to be a bit higher, but the workouts are also around 55 minutes versus Sh’Bam’s classes being 30-45 minutes.
